Available in Unissued and Issued conditions. Unissued bags arrive in new or near-new condition and may still come with original silica packs from factory storage. A storage smell is possible in unissued stock and airs out within a few days or with washing. Issued bags show signs of service but are fully functional. Both grades are eligible for returns.

The French Military Police Duffel

The Gendarmerie nationale is France's military police force and one of the country's two national law enforcement agencies, alongside the civilian Police nationale. Unlike its counterpart, the Gendarmerie operates under joint oversight from the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of the Armed Forces, which gives it a distinctly military character: it can be organized and deployed as a unit rather than dispatched as a patrol. Its mobile squadrons, the Escadrons de gendarmerie mobile, are trained for rapid deployment and crowd management under difficult conditions. Equipment bags like this one were standard transport for the gear those units carry into the field: body armor, helmets, boots, and whatever else a Gendarme needed ready to go.

Construction

This bag is manufactured by TecPack, a French supplier to law enforcement and military services. The shell is reinforced nylon throughout, and the bottom is rubberized to resist moisture and hold the bag stable on wet surfaces.

The twin carry handles are stitched around the full circumference of the bag rather than attached at isolated anchor points, which distributes load across the bag's structure and prevents handle failure under weight.

The single-zipper main closure includes a small loop at the pull that accepts a standard padlock, which is a genuine feature if you're checking this as luggage or leaving it unattended.

Inside, two Velcro-divided compartments help keep gear sorted; a single exterior Velcro pocket handles quick-access items. A business card slot on the side panel accepts a tag or ID slip, and a removable shoulder strap is included. Total dimensions are 42 inches by 12 inches by 15 inches, for approximately 120 liters of capacity.

At 120 liters, this bag is sized for vehicle-based trips and heavy-load days rather than commutes or casual gym use. Customers have packed it for range days with rifles and full kit, car camping, and extended road trips where fitting two weeks of clothes into a single bag was the whole point.
